The tonsils and adenoids are the first line of defence. The tonsils and adenoids are a type of tissue

Adenoids are in the back of the nose and the tonsils are in the back of your throat. Bacteria in the air pass through the nose and mouth. The tonsils and adenoids sense if they are bad organisms by there antigens.

In the back of the throat and nose is where they multiply and cause inflammation, swelling and a soar throat.
